Droid Traits
Every trait, its tier values and odds, and what a Trait Scanner Terminal charges.

How do Droid Traits work in Droid Tycoon?
Scan an equipped companion at a Trait Scanner Terminal. The game picks Common, Gold, Diamond or Rainbow at 25% each, then one trait evenly from that droid's pool. A first scan costs 5 to 200 Nova Crystals, and the trait stays with that droid copy.
Equip the companion you will keep, visit a Trait Scanner Terminal, and set a reroll budget before you start.
Check a droid before scanningHow Traits Work
- A droid has no trait until you scan it. Until then the droid menu shows Trait Unknown.
- Scan at one of the 2 Trait Scanner Terminals in the hub. Only an equipped companion can be scanned.
- The trait belongs to that copy of the droid. Selling or fusing the copy loses it.
- A trait only helps its owner, and only in its slot: companion, worker, Astromech station or Fusion. Worker traits also work in an Astromech station. Lounge slots give no trait effect.
- Trait bonuses add to every other bonus on the same stat. There is no cap.
- Iconic droids keep their trait, tier and reroll count through Super Rebirth.
How a Roll Works
The game picks a tier first. Common, Gold, Diamond and Rainbow each have a 25% chance. It then picks one trait evenly from the traits that droid can roll at that tier.
A reroll rolls the trait and the tier again. It never repeats the same trait at the same tier, but either one on its own can repeat.
| Droid | Traits it can roll | Each Common, Gold or Diamond trait | Each Rainbow trait |
|---|---|---|---|
| Non-Iconic droid (90) | 16 | 2.27% (1 in 44) | 1.56% (1 in 64) |
| Iconic droid (10) | 11 | 3.13% (1 in 32) | 2.27% (1 in 44) |
An Iconic droid's own trait is one of its Rainbow results.
Trait Values by Tier
| Trait | Works as | Bonus to | Common | Gold | Diamond | Rainbow |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Credit Per Second Multiplier | Worker or Astromech | Credits Per Second | +10% | +20% | +35% | +50% |
| Pickaxe Level | Companion | Pickaxe Level | +2 | +4 | +6 | +10 |
| Health | Companion | Max Health | +50 | +100 | +150 | +250 |
| Crafting Speed | Companion | Crafting Speed | +5% | +10% | +15% | +25% |
| Critical Chance | Companion | Critical Chance | +5% | +10% | +15% | +25% |
| Critical Amount | Companion | Critical Amount | +10% | +20% | +30% | +50% |
| Upgrade Chip Bonus | Companion | Upgrade Chips | +20% | +40% | +60% | +100% |
| Scrap Specialist | Companion | Credits from Scrap Stations | +10% | +20% | +30% | +50% |
| Fusion Expert | Companion | Pickaxe Amount on Fusions | +20% | +40% | +70% | +100% |
| Mission Efficiency | Worker or Astromech | Astromech Mission Speed | +5% | +10% | +15% | +25% |
| Offline Earnings | Worker or Astromech | Total Offline Earnings | +2% | +4% | +6% | +10% |
Rainbow is the highest tier. Worker traits apply to that droid's own income or mission speed. Offline Earnings adds to your offline earnings rate.
Rainbow-Only Traits
| Trait | Works as | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Passive Credits | Companion | 25% Credits/5sec as Companion |
| Overclocked | Companion | Doubles Companion Bonus |
| Chip Finder | Companion | 100% Upgrade Chips when Building Droids |
| Fusion Preservation | Fusion | Droid kept if used in fusion, then trait locks |
| Golden Splash Refill | Companion | Gives Gold Splash / 2min While Hitting Depot |
Fusion Preservation: the game text says the trait then locks. The game files clear it back to Trait Unknown after saving the droid.
Iconic Traits
| Iconic droid | Trait | Works as | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mister Bones | Lifesteal | Companion | Heal 20% HP when defeating enemies |
| IG-11 Marshal | Blueprint Protector | Companion | No one can pick up your blueprints |
| D-O | Fusion Master | Worker or Astromech | Companion Bonus Active while working |
| Chopper | Crit Expert | Companion | +1 Multi Crit |
| R2-D2 | Double Crate Chance | Astromech | 50% two crates from Astromech |
| C-3PO | Droid Sell Master | Worker or Astromech | Companion Bonus Active while working |
| BB-8 | Upgrade Chip Master | Worker or Astromech | Companion Bonus Active while working |
| DJ R-3X | World Mission Master | Worker or Astromech | Companion Bonus Active while working |
| WG-22 | Flawless Duplicator | Companion | Flawless Build Provides Blueprint |
| CB-23 | Hyperdrive | Astromech | 3x CB-23 Mission Rewards |
Iconic droids cannot roll Credit Per Second Multiplier, Upgrade Chip Bonus, Mission Efficiency, Passive Credits, Overclocked or Fusion Preservation.
"Companion Bonus Active while working" keeps that Iconic's companion effect on while it works in a slot.
Scan and Reroll Prices
| Droid rarity | First scan | Reroll 1 | Reroll 2 | Reroll 3 | Reroll 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 5 | 2 | 4 | 6 | 8 |
| Rare | 10 | 4 | 8 | 12 | 16 |
| Epic | 20 | 6 | 12 | 18 | 24 |
| Legendary | 35 | 8 | 16 | 24 | 32 |
| Mythic | 55 | 10 | 20 | 30 | 40 |
| Iconic | 200 | 200 | 200 | 200 | 200 |
Prices are in Nova Crystals. A non-Iconic reroll costs its base price times the number of rerolls already made plus one. Iconic rerolls cost the same every time.
There is no reroll limit.
Droid Trait Unlock and Droid Trait Reroll V-Buck items are in the files, but they are not sold.
Where You See a Trait
- Droid menu: the trait icon, tier and description under the droid card. The row title names the slot, such as Companion Trait.
- Companion HUD card: a small trait badge with no text.
- Trait Scanner: the reveal plays for 7 seconds and the result stays up for 5 seconds.
- Rainbow results are announced to the server: "<player> rolled a Rainbow Trait on <droid>".
- Belt cards and the in-game Droidex do not show traits.
What to Scan First
- Scan a companion you plan to keep. A sold or fused copy takes its trait with it.
- Iconic traits survive Super Rebirth. An Iconic scan costs more but lasts.
- Non-Iconic rerolls cost more each time. Set a stopping point before you start.
- Droidex calculators do not add trait bonuses yet.
