Droid Tycoon Astromech Mission Guide
See what each mission costs, what its crates can give you, and how to get Epic or Legendary blueprints.
Reviewed October 28, 2026 for v1.36.2 · Officially announced · Calculated · Game reference.
Is the Stellar Astromech Mission worth 6 trillion Credits?
Choose it if you can afford the fee and want Galactic or Stellar blueprints. Each crate has a 15% Galactic blueprint chance, a 5% Stellar blueprint chance and an 80% Credit chance. Blueprint rarity follows your counted droids: an average rarity score of 1.5 gives Epic, and 2.5 or higher gives Legendary. Rewards stop at Legendary.
Drop to a cheaper tier if one bad result would slow the rest of your base.
Check my base incomeBefore you start
You need an Astromech assigned to a mission slot before you can start. The mission you choose sets the possible blueprint variants. Your average rarity score sets whether those blueprints are Common, Rare, Epic or Legendary. The Astromech you send affects the mission time.
How to get Epic or Legendary blueprints
The game gives each droid a rarity score. Add the scores of all the droids that count, then divide by how many droids you counted. This gives your average score.
Common = 0, Rare = 1, Epic = 2, Legendary = 3, Mythic = 5. Iconic droids do not count.
| Blueprint rarity | Average rarity score |
|---|---|
| Common | Below 0.5 |
| Rare | 0.5 to below 1.5 |
| Epic | 1.5 to below 2.5 |
| Legendary | 2.5 or higher |
For example, 10 Epic droids and 10 Legendary droids give 50 points across 20 droids. 50 divided by 20 is 2.5, so your blueprint rewards are Legendary. With 11 Epics and 9 Legendaries, the average drops to 2.45, so the rewards are Epic.
Mythic droids help raise your average, but these blueprint rewards stop at Legendary.
Which droids count?
Count droids in your normal base slots, mission slots, crafting depots, chip stations and Fusion slots. Count your equipped companions too, unless they are Iconic.
Leave out Lounge droids, droids in the six Protocol bonus slots, Iconics and stored blueprints. Empty slots do not count as low-level droids.
Your Rebirth level and Credits earned do not set the blueprint tier. Each droid that counts gets one vote, so a cheaper Legendary has the same rarity score as an expensive Legendary.
You can cancel a mission now
Since v1.25, interacting with an Astromech terminal lets you cancel the mission running on it. A wrong tier or a timer you no longer want to wait out is recoverable, so the droid becomes available again.
The announcement did not say whether cancelling refunds the credit fee. Treat the fee as spent until direct evidence confirms otherwise.
Mission cost and time
These are the starting times before bonuses. Your Astromech's rarity, variant and extra power change the timer, along with your mission-speed bonus. Check the terminal for your actual time.
| Mission | Credit cost | Base time | Recorded locations |
|---|---|---|---|
| Default | Free | 4:00 | Geonosis, Ryloth, Jakku |
| Diamond | 200,000 | 8:00 | Geonosis, Ryloth, Jakku |
| Rainbow | 60,000,000 | 12:00 | Naboo, Coruscant, Ord Mantell |
| Beskar | 20,000,000,000 | 16:00 | Mustafar, Kashyyyk, Canto Bight |
| Galactic | 1,000,000,000,000 | 20:00 | Coruscant, Scarif, Lothal |
| Stellar | 6,000,000,000,000 | 24:00 | Ilum, Chandrila, Mygeeto |
| CB-23 secret | Free | 50:00 | Elphrona |
Gold mission is unavailable
A separate Gold mission is listed in the game files but is hidden from the mission menu. It lists a 25,000-Credit fee and a 6:30 starting time. The listed chances are 10% Default blueprint, 40% Gold blueprint and 50% Credits. Its Credit reward equals 80 seconds of your income, so it would need 625 credits/s to cover the fee on average. You cannot choose this mission.
Standard mission rewards
These chances are for one crate. A Stellar mission gives a Galactic blueprint 15% of the time, a Stellar blueprint 5% of the time, and Credits 80% of the time. Reaching the Legendary score makes its blueprint drops Legendary. It does not guarantee a blueprint from every crate.
Credit rewards depend on how many Credits you earn per second. The last column shows the income needed for the average Credit reward to cover the mission fee. It leaves out blueprint value. R2-D2 gives two crates from his own mission, which changes that calculation.
| Mission | Blueprint results | Credit result | Credit-only break-even |
|---|---|---|---|
| Default | Default 25%, Gold 25% | 40% for 40 seconds; 10% for 80 seconds | Free mission |
| Diamond | Gold 10%, Diamond 35% | 55% for 120 seconds | 3,031 credits/s |
| Rainbow | Diamond 10%, Rainbow 25% | 65% for 200 seconds | 461,539 credits/s |
| Beskar | Rainbow 15%, Beskar 10% | 75% for 400 seconds | 66.7 million/s |
| Galactic | Beskar 15%, Galactic 10% | 75% for 600 seconds | 2.223 billion/s |
| Stellar | Galactic 15%, Stellar 5% | 80% for 800 seconds | 9.375 billion/s |
How I choose a tier
- Choose a mission you can afford even if its crate gives only Credits.
- Run the tier that can actually drop the blueprint variant you want.
- Check the last column to see whether your income can cover the fee on average.
- Drop back a tier if one bad result slows the rest of your base.
Blueprint value is personal. A needed Galactic blueprint can be worth far more than the mission fee, while a duplicate you cannot store may be worth very little.
What R2-D2 does now
R2-D2's current mission perk produces two crates when his own Astromech Mission completes, matching the change announced in v1.23.2. The perk applies to his own mission result. The general assigned-droid timer scaling still applies.
CB-23 secret mission rewards
The Elphrona mission is free and requires CB-23. It starts at 50 minutes before mission-speed bonuses. It has a 90% chance to give Upgrade Chips and a 10% chance to give 40 or 80 Nova Crystals. Over many runs, it averages 231 chips and 5 Nova Crystals per run. Since 1.35.0, CB-23's Iconic Hyperdrive trait triples these rewards.
| Reward | Chance |
|---|---|
| 120 Upgrade Chips | 32.5% |
| 240 Upgrade Chips | 25% |
| 360 Upgrade Chips | 20% |
| 480 Upgrade Chips | 12.5% |
| 40 Nova Crystals | 7.5% |
| 80 Nova Crystals | 2.5% |
