How many Upgrade Chips does Stellar cost?

The Default-to-Stellar path costs 455 chips for Common, 1,590 for Rare, 15,540 for Epic, 50,100 for Legendary, and 206,000 for Mythic. Iconics do not use this upgrade path.

Use your current variant as the starting point so you only budget the remaining steps.

Rarity is not the same as variant

Rarity is the droid class: Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, or Iconic. The live variant progression is Default, Gold, Diamond, Rainbow, Beskar, Galactic, and Stellar. Economy and chip-upgrade costs are recorded for every standard rarity through Stellar.

Lucky Droid daily upgrade chance

The Lucky Droid in the Cantina gives one free upgrade attempt every 24 hours. Success depends on the droid rarity, and a successful upgrade is instant. The published table is a chance for one attempt, not a guarantee after a fixed number of days.

Calculate your own upgrade path

Select the droid rarity, its current variant, and the target variant. The calculator adds every intermediate step so a Default-to-Stellar plan cannot accidentally budget only the final Galactic-to-Stellar price. Iconics are not eligible for this standard path.

How to spend chips deliberately

  1. Confirm rarity on the card or profile.
  2. Select the current and target variants.
  3. Read the complete step breakdown.
  4. Compare the droid's role, income, Rebirth use, and Station value before spending.

A higher variant can be important even when pure-credit payback is worse, but that progression reason should be explicit.

Continue planning

Compare every droid and variant in the complete Droidex, open the upgrade calculator for an exact target, and check the Rebirth Tracker before committing chips needed by another required droid.
