How does Droid Fusion work?

Droid Fusion checks fixed recipes first, then exact-droid variant upgrades, rarity upgrades, mixed-variant rarity upgrades, and same-variant rarity averages. The first valid rule determines the result.

Use the recipe finder for one of the 17 named Fusion droids. Generic random results are uniform within the shop-eligible pool at the rarity already determined by your ingredients.

Three headline Fusion recipe classes

Recipe classInputsResultRule detail
Secret Fusion DroidsOne exact three-droid recipeThe named Fusion droidInput order does not matter; the result keeps the lowest input variant.

Variant Upgrade3 copies of one droid and variantThe same droid at the next variantThis resolves before the generic rarity-upgrade rule.

The six checks, in exact order

  1. 01. Fixed recipe

When: The three droid identities match one of the 17 named recipes.

Result: The named Fusion droid at the lowest variant among the three inputs.

Slot order is ignored, duplicate ingredients still count, and the inputs do not need to share a variant.

  2. 02. Exact-droid variant push

When: All three inputs are the same droid at the same variant.

Result: That exact droid advances one variant.

There is no random identity roll. This check runs before the generic rarity push.

  3. 03. Same-rarity push

When: All three inputs share a rarity and a variant.

Result: A random shop-eligible droid at the next rarity, keeping the shared variant.

The three identities may be different. Mythic has no higher rarity, so this check can fall through.

  4. 04. Same rarity, mixed variants

When: All three inputs share a rarity but use more than one variant.

Result: A random shop-eligible droid at the next rarity and the lowest input variant.

This is the mixed-variant version of a rarity push. Mythic cannot move higher.

  5. 05. Same-variant average

When: All three inputs share a variant and none of the earlier checks resolved.

Result: A random droid at the floored average rarity, advanced by one variant.

Rarity ranks are Common 1, Rare 2, Epic 3, Legendary 4, and Mythic 5.

  6. 06. Invalid loadout

When: The ingredients have mixed rarities and mixed variants and are not a fixed recipe.

Result: The machine rejects the fusion.

A fixed recipe is the only rule that can override this combination.

What you see at the machine

  1. Invalid The machine rejects the current input.
  2. Droids required n/3 Load the three droids shown in the recipe.
  3. Fusion ready (???) All three inputs are valid and the preview is hidden.
  4. Fusion ready (tier) Review the result quality before starting.
  5. Fusing The tank shows its liquid fill, progress, and countdown.
  6. Complete The fusion finishes and the result becomes available.

Result-quality tiers

  1. Weak
  2. Good
  3. Great
  4. Amazing
  5. Exclusive

The random result is uniform, not weighted

Generic rules select the target rarity before the game chooses one equal entry from the ordinary shop-eligible droids at that rarity. The 17 Fusion-exclusive droids are excluded from this random pool.

Flawless is rolled separately after the result droid is chosen. Player multipliers can improve this roll without changing the random identity pool.
